Do you want to start a Shabbat dinner tradition on Friday nights with your family? Or do you have something in place but you are looking for a way to layer on more rituals or values? Friday night Shabbat dinners are a great way to bring families together at the end of a busy week, and it doesn't need to be overwhelming to be meaningful.
The Shabbat@Home series consists of 5 interactive evenings for the entire family, with dinner included so that you don't need to think about cooking when you get home. In the first four sessions, we will explore one aspect of hosting Shabbat dinner in your home for your family through conversation and crafting. You'll go home after each session with everything you need to add a new twist to your Friday nights.
At the end of the year, we will pull together everything we learned during a Friday night community dinner at the Simon Family JCC, where you can bring your creations (don't worry - we will have extra if you miss a session or two) to set your family's table.
The first four FREE sessions will be held from 5:30 - 7:00 PM on the following dates. Dinner will be served at 5:30, and the program will begin at 6:00 PM.
In each session, your family will create a beautiful piece of Judaica to take home for your Shabbat table. These are not your average Shabbat crafts. They will be works of art that your family will cherish for years to come.
