Community venues and theatres

More than 1,800 people experienced the diversity of Jewish and Israeli films offered during Simon Family JCC’s 25th Annual Virginia Festival of Jewish Film presented by Alma* & Howard Laderberg and Patricia and Avraham Ashkenazi. Ten films, from compelling documentaries to a poignant comedy, were screened at various locations throughout Tidewater.

The plethora of film genres and the talent represented at the Festival continues to expand in step with the community’s interest in sustaining this annual event. This year, for the 26th Annual Virginia Festival of Jewish Film, the films, events, and receptions promise to be bigger and more impactful with guest speakers and screenings which are designed to engage and spark conversation throughout the community.
