The Young Adult Division (YAD) of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater is open to adults ages 22 through 40 (inclusively). YAD fosters Jewish identity, involvement and responsibility among young Jews in Tidewater in order to sustain and enrich the vibrant community here at home, in Israel and around the world.

Getting involved with YAD is an exciting way to meet other young professionals who share your values and interests. YAD is for singles, couples and young families. Join us and become part of the next generation of caring Jews who are making a difference in our community - and having a blast doing it! YAD has many avenues for you to get involved—see below for opportunities!

Social Action

Make a difference and give back by joining YAD’s Hands on Tidewater (HoT) group for volunteer events around town. HoT events combine a few hours of volunteerism with a chance to get to know other YAD’ians. The commitments are short-term, but the differences can be long-lasting both for those helped and the volunteers themselves.
